My Secret Bordeaux Tips

Welcome to My Secret Bordeaux Tips! I discuss exactly what wines enthrall me from the Bordeaux wine region, long associated with Britain through Eleanor of Aquitane and King Henry II of England - mostly red wines

I have reds from 1978 to 2021 - most clarets are oak barrelled for months before bottling and I purchase some cases en primeur where you pay upfront for favourite châteaux long before the wines are released for sale

Here I share what vintages, and grapes, where to buy, how many to buy, what to avoid, when to drink and my passion for this French region which produces more wine than Australia!

Be sure to watch my very best review videos over at http://WineZo.uk/bordeaux-reds

In front of me as I write is a 40-year-old Pomerol, the most exclusive right bank appellation, 1983 Château La Croix de Gay 12.5% - see my picture above

I'm looking forward to sharing this bottle with you this Thursday for my Wine&Dine series in "What Wine With Chocolate Cake?" Yes, yes, my birthday week 😚😉🤩🥳

So, pour yourself a glass, settle in & enjoy: these insights have taken me many years of wine choices, purchasing & tasting to formulate! This region of France is by far my greatest passion in wine although I have no particular whim to visit, why would I? The best of it is here in front of me!!!

Hopefully, you will take some of my enthusiasm onboard! I purchase most of my Bordeaux wines here:

You'll be in good hands, search "Fine Wine"

Some of my Bordeaux favourites ✨ like old pals! 🤗💕

For my very best most expensive clarets, I use a Dartington crystal Merlot Masterclass glass £25 handcrafted - stay tuned for my "What Glass?" presentation soon!
